Bunny Dee

I have a secret obsession with bunnies. I do and I am not ashamed to say it.  Lucky for me the artist Danielle Gundry-Monji seems to share the same love for those furry creatures and incorporates them frequently into her stunning work.

Although she grew up in a small town Gundry- Monji lives and works in San Francisco today where she went to art school but her love for bunnies started when she was just a baby: 

"When I was born the first stuffed animal I was ever given was a bunny. I think that imprinted on me from the very start. This lovely creature with long ears and smile that made me so happy. Even as I got older that love of rabbits never went away. I am still given stuffed rabbits and rabbit type things for birthdays and presents. I have come to identify with rabbits in many ways.When I moved to SF nearly 7 years ago I brought that rabbit, my first stuffed bunny that I attached too. He is always in my apartment. Several years ago when drawing animal characters for my family I drew myself as a rabbit and my brother started calling me Bunny Dee. I was given the chance to go to art school and I jumped right in. It really wasn't until my final two years at school that I found my voice in art. That was after many trials and a huge heartbreak. From that came what is now the style of my art. My art speaks from my experiences, emotions, dreams and history. I'm a day dreamer at heart so most things come from that realm."

Organized Chaos by Cherri Wood

Only 20 years old but already a great illustrator with her own style : Cherri Wood from Minnesota, USA.
She combines watercolor, acrylic and graphite in a style of organized chaos into these stunning illustrations that are mesmerizing and beautiful.

Minimal is best: Cristian Grossi

To create a good illustration sometimes all it really takes is black lines, maybe a little color here and there to spice things up.

Cristian Grossi is a great illustrator who makes the minimalistic style work in an exceptional way. He is based in Parma, Italy and also works as a fashion designer besides producing amazing illustrations:

If you regularly commute by bus or subway you most likely have already seen some illustrations by Andrew Bannecker. The Washington based artist creates amazing art and designs but also commercial ads, event posters, newspaper illustrations...etc.
I love his style, the crisp color pallete and clear lines are great.

After reading the description of his workspace I am even more in love:

"A collector of old ephemera and just about anything wood and metal, Andrew creates beautiful art that captures the imagination and tells a story. He works in a studio in Washington DC, beautifully cluttered with everything from toy rocket ships to vintage glass beakers filled with skittles. "

Ron Mazellan Illustrations

Wow, what an illustrator!. I am definitely a fan of the dainty and light illustration style, like that of Julie Morstad,  but Ron Mazellans work is so vibrant and full of emotion it's hard not not to be deeply impressed by it.
Mazellan has been an illustrator for more than 20 years and contributed his work to numrous books including the New York Times Bestseller "The Longest Season", by Cal Ripken Jr.

Liam Brazier - Superhero Illustrations

I have never been big on superhero comics. Spiderman, Batman, Superman...never really cared.
Today I do enjoy those old comics for their visual style but I really LOVE how graphic designer

I admit it, I am 26 years old and I enjoy looking at picture books even if there is no 4 year old in sight.
