Got A Dollar?

German artist Hans - Peter Feldmann won the HUGO BOSS Award in 2010 and received 100 000$ as honorarium. For his current solo exhibition at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City he decidet to cover the walls with that exact amount, 100 000$ in a grid of overlapping one-dollar bills.

Scientists say it is impossible for humans to grasp the meaning of large numerical figures simply because we have no frame of reference in our everyday life. With his work Feldmann gives visitors the opportunity to experience an abstract figure and the economic possibilities it entails.
